the land of the red rocks

What a gorgeous place! Not exactly an ideal time of the year to visit Sedona (99 degrees was a bit much, thank you) but if you must be outside in the blistering heat, It’s scenery is not too shabby! Worth every drop of sweat! Every turn you make, you’re surrounded by the beautiful backdrop of these massive sandstone red rocks – which at certain times of the day are illuminated by the sun, which make them even more beautiful! Although I had very little time to investigate, I did manage to snag a few photos. My brother and his new wife (and my new sister!) got married in Red Rock State Park, and the ceremony was short and sweet -thank goodness- and very small, but very special. 11 people total, and it couldn’t have been more perfect (ok, a few degrees cooler might have been more perfect!). After the ceremony we drove back to our hotel and celebrated with chilled champagne on the gorgeous patio of the Hyatt. We then headed off to dinner – a little Italian joint tucked among the red rocks. What a great day!

Surely a place I’m coming back to explore – but maybe when it’s not the height of summer!
