the art of racing in the rain

This is such a great book. Great Book. In general I’m a total sucker for dog books, so the adorable picture of Enzo on the cover already had me intrigued. You really don’t have to be a dog lover to read this – but you certainly might become one after! I know my hopes for a puppy have  only grown stronger since! (sigh) Someday, when I have more time, I’ll have my own little furry friend – and I know I always be curious to know what it’s thinking. It’s another one of those books that shows such careful attention to something so meaningful, so common, that is so often overlooked. It is sad –  I was crying like a baby by the end, but if a book can make you cry, it’s obviously pretty powerful. There is something to be said about that! It’s extremely well written, with lots of laughs and special moments that you just can’t help but smile at. One of my favorite books of the year! I am going to start Raven Stole the Moon, another book by Garth Stein. Hopefully it’s every bit as remarkable as The Art of Racing in the Rain.
